Francis William Topham (1808-1877)

This British artist started his career as a master engraver, becoming one of England's most famous engravers. An engraving by Topham of this painting is included with the piece. This piece was exhibited at multiple galleries and exhibitions in England during the late 19th century. Topham was a member of the Royal Society of Painters and the father as well as teacher to F.W.W. Topham. He is a very well listed artist in all of the major publications with extensive auction records.
