Janet
A. Cook is a British artist living and working in New York City. Her formal
art education includes The National Academy of Design, NY (3yr. Certificate
in painting), Art Students League, NY, Independent study with Bob Gerbracht,
PSA, Frank Federico, PSA, San Francisco School of Art, Academy of Art
College, CA, University of Miami, FL, De Montford University, Leicester,
England UK, BA Honors in History of Art and Design. She specializes in
Oil and Pastel and paints both figurative and landscapes. In 2005, she
was featured on NBC's 'Dateline' program, the 'Da Vinci Code'. During
the program you see her complete sections of a charcoal drawing of Mary
Magdalene as the story unfolds. In addition to being featured on TV, her
work has appeared in various arts magazines, and she has received numerous
awards in both state and national and international competitions. Her
paintings are to be found in many collections including the Buckingham
Hotel in New York and the Trenton City Museum, NJ, as well as many private
and corporate collections throughout America and Europe. |
